Loimutar's products are handmade in Rovaniemi. All stages of the manufacturing process, from melting the wax to packaging the product, are done by hand in our small candle workshop.

We are happy to offer our customers high-quality products. Natural wax means 100% plant-based and biodegradable candle waxes. Burning them releases significantly fewer fine particles and harmful compounds into the room air than cheaper ingredients, such as candles made from a stearin-paraffin mixture found in supermarkets.

Candle waxes

The main raw material of our products is candle waxes made from soybeans and olive oil. They burn very cleanly and have a long burning time. You can recognize natural wax by its velvety surface. Natural waxes burn almost 50% longer than artificial candle waxes.

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from soybean oil and is produced in England. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, crushed, dehulled and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hardened by hydrogenation.

The olive-based candle waxes we use are made in Italy. The olives are harvested from the Mediterranean region.

In some flower candles, we also add other vegetable waxes to improve the composition and burning properties of the candle wax, as well as mineral waxes in the necessary proportion to harden the candle wax. The main raw material of the product is still olive wax. In this case, the product is marked candle wax blend .

Our products do not use animal-derived ingredients, stearin, or paraffin-based gel candle wax.

Dyes

We use the best candle dyes available on the market. We use high-quality candle dyes from Bekro and natural mineral-based Mica dye powders. Mica is a natural dye powder that does not contain any chemicals. The colors are obtained from plants.

Fragrances

We use cosmetic-quality fragrance oils from domestic suppliers and importers in our products. We order some of the fragrance oils from Central Europe so that we can offer unique fragrance combinations in our range. Some of our products also contain genuine essential oils.

The fragrances we use do not contain phthalates or parabens (chemical additives).

Heart strings

We use Stabilon and TRC heart pads.

Stabilo wedo core threads made of cotton are the best threads from the traditional German thread manufacturer and have been proven to work with natural waxes.

TCR wick threads are wick threads made from pure cotton by braiding. The manufacturer of TCR threads is an Italian family business. The threads are not bleached, and no other chemicals have been used in their manufacture. The threads are pre-waxed with a vegetable wax based on soy wax.

Wooden hearts

The wood variety used in the production of the wooden hearts is the glossy plum (Prunus Serotina). The wooden hearts are beautiful and atmospheric in candles. The wood chips crackle beautifully when burning, like a miniature fireplace fire.

There can sometimes be challenges when using wood cores. When wood, a natural material, is combined with vegetable waxes, the wood core can sometimes be capricious and burn weaker than intended.

We have included detailed instructions for use for our wood wick candles. In rare cases, despite following the instructions, the wood wick will burn with a smoldering flame. In such cases, extinguish the candle and contact us if necessary. We will replace the defective product with a new one.

It is important to note that the burning properties of a candle are affected by several factors. There is always some tolerance for poorly burning candles in natural products, old wicks and wicks. Generally, 10% of candles burning less than 10% in a batch are acceptable.

A smoldering wood core is therefore probably not a manufacturing defect, but a natural variation in natural candles.

 

Matches

We hand-package the matches at Loimuttare Candle Factory in cute glass bottles with cork lids. We import the matches and scratch surfaces ourselves from Central Europe. The matches have a beautiful pink tip.

Candle glass

Loimuttare glass candles are cast in clear glass containers intended for candle making. The glasses are made in Poland from heat-resistant and fire-safe glass. We order the glasses from a domestic importer.

Packaging materials

We choose recyclable, reusable materials for our packaging. We are constantly developing our products to improve the ecology, functionality and recyclability of our packaging. The products are packaged for retailers in cellophane bags made of PP plastic, which can be recycled into plastics. We send candles to private customers without a cellophane bag.

We ship our products in cardboard boxes made from FSC-certified environmentally friendly cardboard. The raw materials used in the cardboard boxes originate from Europe. We use plastic-free paper tape to pack the cardboard boxes.

Safety instructions:

Follow the instructions that come with the candle. The candle glass will naturally get slightly hot during burning, also from the bottom. Burn the candle on a heat-resistant, non-flammable surface under supervision.

We recommend removing decorations and artificial berries that are not made of candle wax from the surface of the candle. They can withstand some heat, but we cannot guarantee their fire safety.

Follow general fire safety guidelines when burning candles. Loimutar is not responsible for any damage caused by candle use .

1. Is it even possible to burn such lovely candles?

Of course! The candles have been carefully designed and are not just candles, but also friendship - they convey joy, presence and warmth. The candle is beautiful as a decoration or interior design item and does not need to be burned immediately. The candle has a long burning time, so you can enjoy it for a long time after lighting it. 2. How do I choose the right candle as a gift?

3. The wooden wick candle is not burning properly. The flame is smoldering and about to go out. Did I do something wrong?

We do our best in the manufacture of wood core candles and the composition of the candle. Sometimes, however, the wood core chip does not burn as desired. The reason for this is not always clear. You can try shortening the extinguished wood chip and removing the charred part. You can try pouring a little liquid wax away from around the chip. Sometimes the wood core starts to burn better a few hours after lighting.

It is important to note that the burning properties of a candle are affected by several factors. Natural products, old wicks and candles always have some tolerance for poorly burning candles. Generally, 10% of poorly burning candles in a batch is acceptable.

4. Strange light spots and uneven color appear on the surface of the glass candle

Natural waxes, such as olive and soy waxes, naturally have a phenomenon called frosting. Frosting occurs when the natural wax crystallizes over time, i.e. tries to return to its original state. Frosting is only a cosmetic defect and does not affect the burning of the candle. The frosting crystals disappear when the candle warms up during burning. Frost is usually only clearly visible in darker candles. Frosting can also be prevented during the candle making process by ensuring that the wax is poured when it has cooled sufficiently, and we at Loimuttarella do our best in this regard.

5. The candle glass is broken, can I get a new candle?

All our candles are carefully checked and packaged before shipping. Sometimes, products do break during shipping. We will replace any product that breaks during shipping, so please contact us.

6. Do I need to remove the decorations from the surface of the candle?

Generally not. Some Loimuttare candles use artificial berries as decoration on their surface. We recommend removing such decorations before burning or at the latest when the surface layer of the candle has melted from the edges. The melted wax may carry the decorations closer to the flame, creating a risk of flaming.

Some decorations are more heat resistant than others, so due to fire safety risks, we recommend that you monitor the burning of the candle and remove the decorations if it looks like they could catch fire. The decorations are easy to remove from the surface of the candle with your fingers.

Note! The raspberries in the Queen's Yogurt and Wild Raspberry candles and the Hillaherku varnishes are made of candle wax, so they should not be removed. Each candle comes with individual instructions with pictures.

7. How long does the scent last in a fragrance bar?

The strength of the characteristic scents of the scent tiles varies, but on average the scent lasts for about four months in the tile. The scent gradually fades. The strength of the scent depends on where the scent tile is stored. We recommend storing the scent tile airtight when not in use. The scent tiles are intended for use in small spaces, such as a closet, toilet or wardrobe.

8. Are Loimuttare scented candles suitable for people sensitive to fragrances?

We use high-quality essential oils and cosmetic-grade fragrance oils in our products. Many asthma sufferers have been able to use our products without symptoms. However, the most sensitive individuals and some asthmatics may experience mild symptoms from our stronger fragrances. We recommend our unscented options for those sensitive to fragrances.

9. How long does delivery take?

We strive to prepare products in stock so that we can ship the product soon after the customer has placed the order. Some products, such as flower candles, are mainly made to order for the customer. Therefore, the delivery time of the products may vary depending on the product. On average, the customer receives the product within 3-5 business days from the time of order in Finland.

The order processing time is usually 1-3 days and the delivery time is 1-2 business days, depending on the shipping company. When sending abroad, the delivery time may be longer. During high season, times may be longer, but we will inform you about delays and try to avoid them. We will inform you about holiday times separately on our website.
